The Industrial Development Corporation Bursary Requirements

To be considered for the Industrial Development Corporation bursary, you must meet all of the following requirements.

  1. South African Citizenship: Applicants must be South African citizens residing within the country.
  2. Age Limit: Candidates must be between 16 and 25 years old.
  3. Academic Performance: Strong academic performance is essential. Matric students require a minimum average of 75%, while continuing students must maintain a minimum average of 65%.
  4. Field of Study: The program prioritizes STEM fields, including Engineering, Science, Technology, Accounting/Financial Studies, and Law.

The Industrial Development Corporation Bursary Requirements

Shortlisted candidates may be invited for interviews.

  1. You must be a South African citizen
  2. You must live in South Africa
  3. You must be 25 years old or younger
  4. You must be currently be in Matric or have completed Matric
  5. You must be studying or intend on studying full time towards a first undergraduate qualification.
  6. Postgraduate funding will only be awarded to Accounting and Law students 
  7. You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognized public University, University of Technology or TVET College in South Africa 
  8. You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 75% AND you must have achieved a minimum B aggregate symbol in Mathematics and Science in your Matric
  9. You must have a minimum overall average of 65% in your most recent results AND you must have passed all courses which you registered for, for the study period already completed
  10. You must have combined household income of less than R350 000 per annum (students with a combined household income of less than R600 000 per annum may apply)
  11. You must NOT be studying with the aid of an employer or another bursary
  12. Preference will be given to students living with disabilities
  13. Preference will be given to students who are studying or matriculated from Quintile 1, 2 and 3 schools (public schools), schools from previously disadvantaged communities, and from rural areas
