SMIT Amandla Marine Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the SMIT Amandla Marine Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be South African citizens.
  2. You must have a strong academic record, demonstrated by excellent grades in their previous studies.
  3. You must demonstrate financial need and be unable to afford their studies without the bursary.
  4. You must be pursuing a relevant marine-related qualification at a recognized South African university or tertiary institution.

SMIT Amandla Marine Bursary Application Requirements

Applicants for the SMIT Amandla Marine Bursary must submit the following documents:

  1. Academic Records: Copies of academic transcripts and certificates.
  2. Grade 11 final school report and Matric latest results (if currently in Matric)
  3. Matric certificate (if completed Matric)
  4. Financial Documentation: Proof of financial need, such as income statements and bank statements.
  5. CV and Reference Letters: Letters of recommendation from academic or professional references.
  6. Proof of application at a tertiary institution for the 2025 academic year
  7. Motivational letter to support your application
  8. A copy of the applicant’s South African identity document.
