About the Netwerk24 Scholarship

The Netwerk24 Scholarship program is designed to support aspiring Afrikaans digital journalists.

Every year, Netwerk24 awards scholarships to two deserving students: one pursuing an undergraduate degree or diploma (valued at R130,000) and another enrolled in an Honors or Masters program (valued at R170,000).

This scholarship provides financial assistance to talented individuals who wish to embark on a career in this exciting field.

Netwerk24 Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Netwerk24 Scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must have completed Matric (South African National Senior Certificate).
  2. Undergraduate Applicants: You must be entering your final year of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma program, preferably in Journalism or Communication studies.
  3. Postgraduate Applicants: You must be entering your final year of an Honors or Masters Degree program, preferably in Journalism or Communication studies.
  4. You must demonstrate a strong desire to pursue a career in Afrikaans digital journalism.
  5. Fluency in Afrikaans is a must.
  6. You must possess excellent news sense and a keen eye for identifying newsworthy stories.
  7. Strong communication skills are essential for conveying information effectively.
  8. A well-rounded knowledge base on current affairs and various topics is crucial.
  9. You must demonstrate excellent language skills, both written and spoken.

Netwerk24 Scholarship Application Requirements
