Their collaboration with SASA highlights their commitment to fostering growth and diversity within the South African wine industry.
About the SASA Perron X Bursary
The SASA Perron X Bursary awards 100 bursaries annually for SASA’s Introductory Sommelier Certification program.
This initiative aims to address the lack of diversity often associated with the sommelier profession by providing students from various backgrounds with the opportunity to enter the world of wine.
By supporting aspiring sommeliers, the program seeks to introduce a new generation of wine professionals who can represent the rich history of South African communities and elevate the overall quality of service within the industry.
The bursary covers the full cost of the Introductory Sommelier Certification exam.
Students are selected based on a combination of factors, including academic ability, personal motivation, and financial need.
