Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite Bursary Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Afrimat Nkomati Anthracite Bursary, you must meet the following requirements:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Possess a Matric certificate with a minimum overall average of 65%.
- Be enrolled in (or intend to enroll in) a relevant field of study at an accredited South African university for 2025 academic year.
- Demonstrate academic merit by achieving a minimum overall average of 60% in your 2024 academic year (if currently studying).
- Be medically fit as per the Mine Health and Safety Act and Afrimat’s standards.
Preference will be given to applicants from the following communities:
- Mawewe
- Matsamo
- Lugedlane
Additionally, the bursary program prioritizes students from designated groups and historically disadvantaged backgrounds.
