To become a CA, you need:
- Excellent Matric marks in Maths and Accounting
- A SAICA-recognized university degree
- Completion of a Certificate in Theory of Accounting (CTA)
- A training contract with a registered office
- Passing the Initial Test of Competence (ITC) and Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) exams
- 18 months of training contract experience
