DSAC Bursary Requirements
To be eligible for the Department of Sport, Arts and Culture (DSAC) bursary, you must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship: You must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
- Age limit: You must be no older than 40 years old.
- Academic performance: Demonstrate strong academic performance, with a satisfactory academic record or outstanding grades depending on your study level.
- Field of study: You must be pursuing or intend to pursue an undergraduate or postgraduate qualification in a heritage-related field as listed on the DSAC website.
- University accreditation: You must be studying or have been accepted into an accredited institution registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET).
- Employment status: You cannot be employed full-time in the government, state agencies, or private sector with an annual income exceeding R350,000.
DSAC Bursary Closing Date
The application deadline for the DSAC Bursary for the 2024 academic year is Tuesday, 31 January 2024. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
The DSAC also offers a separate Language Bursary for language studies. The application process for this bursary typically opens in June each year.
