About Eastern Cape Office of the Premier (ECOTP) Bursary

The ECOTP Bursary is a financial aid program that provides assistance to deserving students from the Eastern Cape who are pursuing studies in fields relevant to MerSETA’s focus areas.

The program aims to bridge the financial gap for these students and equip them with the necessary skills to contribute to the province’s economic growth.

Eastern Cape Office of the Premier Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Eastern Cape Office of the Premier Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a South African citizen residing within the Eastern Cape province.
  2. You must be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old.
  3. You must be enrolled in a Degree or Diploma program at a recognized South African university or university of technology in one of the fields supported by the bursary (see below for the list).
  4. You must be unemployed at the time of application.
  5. You must demonstrate a willingness to work within the relevant service sectors upon graduation.
  6. You must not be receiving any other form of government funding for your studies. (Note: Preference may be given to students from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.)
