It provides financial support for undergraduate SAICA-accredited degrees, covering the full cost of attendance for both undergraduate and Honors programs required to qualify as a CA(SA).

FEMEF Mike Ilsley Memorial Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, ensure you meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. Be enrolled in your 1st, 2nd, or 3rd year of an undergraduate SAICA-accredited degree program.
  3. You must have completed your Matriculation.
  4. Demonstrate strong academic ability with a minimum overall average of 70% in 2022 and a minimum of 70% for Financial Accounting.
  5. Be registered at a recognized and accredited university in South Africa.
  6. Career Aspiration: Have a clear intention to pursue a career as a Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)).
  7. Possess a gross household income not exceeding R25 000 per month.
  8. Demonstrate excellent character with strong values, a sense of responsibility, and involvement in community service. You should also possess leadership potential.

FEMEF Mike Ilsley Memorial Scholarship Application Requirements

The application process is entirely online. Make sure you have the following documents ready for submission:

  1. Certified copies of your Identity Document (ID) and Matric certificate.
  2. Full academic records/transcripts with recent results, including a letter of confirmation from your institution on official letterhead.
  3. Proof of registration for 2022 on your institution’s letterhead.
  4. A letter of good conduct from a lecturer, tutor, or other academic representative at your university.
  5. A well-written motivational letter explaining your reasons for applying and future aspirations.
  6. Certified copies of your parents’ or guardians’ IDs.
  7. Certified copies of their death certificates (if deceased).
  8. Proof of household income for the past 3 months:
    • Payslips or official employment letters for employed parents/guardians.
    • Bank statements or IRP5 for self-employed parents/guardians.
    • Bank statements (if applicable) or a sworn affidavit confirming no bank account and income source if informally employed.
    • Sworn affidavit if parents/guardians are unemployed.
  9. A detailed breakdown of your combined household income and the number of dependents residing within your household.
  10. Details of any other bursaries, scholarships, or financial aid you’ve applied for (including NSFAS).
