Games Global Bursary Requirements and How to Apply

The Games Global Bursary Programme is offered by Games Global, a digital gaming/iGaming company with offices in Cape Town and Durban.

The programme aims to support South African students studying degrees in technology, data science, software development, animation and related fields. 

It offers both financial support and industry‐experience opportunities.

Games Global Bursary Eligibility requirements 

Applicants must meet the following:

  1. Must be a South African citizen.
  2. Must be under 35 years old.
  3. Must have completed Matric with strong academic results: for example minimum 80% in Mathematics and at least 75% in three other subjects in previous cycles.
  4. Must be enrolled in or applying for a recognised South African university for a Bachelor’s or Honours degree in one of the eligible fields: animation, computer science, data analysis/data science, software development, graphic design, mathematics.
  5. Must maintain a high overall average (for example 80%+) in the recent academic year in an earlier cycle.
  6. Be willing to participate in paid vacation work or internship at Games Global offices (Cape Town or Durban) and possibly job placement after graduation.

Application process for the Games Global Bursary

To apply you should follow these steps:

  1. Prepare the required documents: certified copy of ID, full academic record (latest results on institution’s letterhead), recent head-and-shoulders photograph, curriculum vitae, cover letter/motivational letter.
