Golelo Trust Bursary South Africa 2025
The Golelo Trust is designed to support Black women who are pursuing careers in mechanical engineering.
Their mission is to propel the educational and economic development of these talented individuals, fostering a more diverse and inclusive engineering field in South Africa.
Since its inception, the Trust has empowered 17 women with bursaries, shaping their dreams into reality.
About the Golelo Trust Bursary
The Golelo Trust Bursary is specifically designed for Black South African women enrolled in an undergraduate degree or diploma program in Mechanical Engineering.
It offers comprehensive financial support to deserving students who demonstrate academic excellence and face financial limitations.
The bursary covers a wide range of expenses, including:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Textbook fees
- Accommodation in residence
- Monthly cash allowance for meals, transport, and other study-related costs
The bursary is awarded for one academic year, with the possibility of extension based on continued academic performance.
This long-term support system allows recipients to focus on their studies without the burden of financial worries.
Golelo Trust Bursary Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Golelo Trust Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African citizenship
- Black (African, Indian, or Coloured) female student
- Enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering undergraduate degree or diploma program
- Entering your second year or higher of study (must have completed your first year) in 2025
- Studying at a recognized and accredited university or university of technology in South Africa
- Enrolled at a university within the Gauteng province
- Demonstrate a strong academic record
- Facing financial need
- Not currently receiving any other bursary funding
Golelo Trust Bursary Application Requirements
To apply for the Golelo Trust Bursary, you’ll need to:
- Download and complete the official Golelo Trust Bursary Application Form.
- Submit certified copies of the following supporting documents:
- Identity Document (ID)
- Matric certificate
- Full academic record to date, including most recent results/transcripts
- Proof of address (e.g., municipal account, telephone account)
- Completed Annexure A form (downloadable)
