GrandWest Bursary Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the GrandWest Bursary 2025, all applicants must meet the following criteria:
- South African Citizenship: You must be a South African citizen.
- Age Limit: You must be under the age of 27 years old.
- Western Cape Residency: You must be a resident of the Western Cape province.
- Matric Completion: You must have completed your Matric (National Senior Certificate) in South Africa.
- Undergraduate Studies: You must be currently enrolled in, or planning to enroll in, a full-time undergraduate program at a South African university. Postgraduate studies are not eligible.
- Approved Institutions: You must be registered or planning to register at one of the following public universities in the Western Cape:
- University of Cape Town (UCT)
- University of the Western Cape (UWC)
- Stellenbosch University (SU)
- Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
- Academic Progress: While academic excellence is not the sole criterion, demonstrating good academic progress is important.
- No Full-time Work: You must not be engaged in full-time employment.
- Fresh Start: You cannot be re-registering for subjects you failed in the previous academic year.
- Disability Inclusion: Students with disabilities are highly encouraged to apply.

Make sure to include clear copies of the following documents with your application:
- Certified copy of your South African ID document.
- Your Matric certificate.
- Proof of registration at one of the approved institutions mentioned above.
- Full academic results and qualifications from any prior or current studies.
- Official letter of acceptance from your chosen university on their letterhead.
- Statement of course fees from your chosen university on their letterhead.
- Course overview for your chosen program at the university.
- Proof of your household income.
- Details of any other financial assistance you are receiving (if applicable).
Incomplete applications or applications missing required documents will be disqualified.
