Eligibility Criteria for the Kouga Wind Farm Bursary

Before beginning your application journey, ensure you meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. Applicants must be under 29 years old.
  3. You must reside in one of the following areas: KwaNomzamo, Umzamowethu, Sea Vista, or Kruisfontein.
  4. You must either be currently enrolled in Matric (2023) or have completed Matric.
  5. You must be registered or provisionally accepted for an undergraduate degree, diploma, certificate, or trade skill program (excluding postgraduate studies). This includes trade skills offered by training institutions or colleges.
  6. Registration or provisional acceptance at a recognized public university, TVET college, FET college, or accredited training institution in South Africa is mandatory.
  7. Your parents’ or guardians’ total household income must not exceed R350 000 per annum.
  8. Returning Beneficiaries: Returning bursary recipients need to have maintained a minimum pass rate of 75% in their 2025 modules and successfully completed 50 hours of community service within the designated timeframe of 2025.

  2. Certified copies of your Grade 11 final results and most recent Matric results (if completed Matric in 2024 but haven’t received your certificate yet)

  4. Certified copy of your letter of provisional acceptance at a tertiary institution (if not yet studying)
  5. Certified copy of your full tertiary academic record (if currently studying)
  6. Certified copies of your parent or guardian’s proof of income and employment status not older than 6 months (payslips, affidavits if unemployed, SASSA letter if receiving a grant, death certificate if deceased)
  7. Parent or guardian’s recent bank statements (3 months)
  8. Proof of address (municipal bill, letter from ward councillor, or affidavit)

For Returning Beneficiaries:

  1. Full tertiary academic record
  2. Certified copies of parent or guardian’s proof of income and employment status not older than 6 months (payslips, affidavits if unemployed, SASSA letter if receiving a grant, death certificate if deceased)
  3. Recent bank statements (3 months) from your parent or guardian
