About the Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Bursary

MB KZN recognizes the critical role of skilled professionals in driving the construction industry forward.

To bridge the skills gap and encourage promising individuals, they offer bursaries to deserving students residing in KwaZulu-Natal who are pursuing qualifications within the built environment sector.

This sector covers a wide range of specializations, including architecture, quantity surveying, civil engineering, construction management, and related fields.

The bursary is awarded annually for one year of study, with the possibility of renewal based on satisfactory academic progress.

It provides financial assistance towards various educational expenses, including tuition fees, textbooks, accommodation (if residing in a student residence), travel costs, and other relevant expenditures.

Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a South African citizen residing in KwaZulu-Natal.
  2. Be a current matric student or have already completed matric.
  3. Be enrolled in or intend to enroll in a full-time program related to the built environment sector at a recognized tertiary institution within KwaZulu-Natal. This includes universities, universities of technology, and other accredited institutions.
  4. Demonstrate a strong academic record.
  5. Possess a proven financial need.

Master Builders KwaZulu-Natal Bursary Application Requirements

To apply for the bursary, you will need to download and complete the Master Builders Bursary Application Form.

The form should clearly state your chosen field of study, your year of study, and the type of tertiary institution you plan to attend (e.g. university, university of technology).

In addition to the application form, you must submit certified copies of the following supporting documents:

  1. Your South African ID document.
  2. Matric certificate or final results (if you have completed matric).
  3. Full academic record to date (if you are currently studying).
  4. Progress report if you did not write exams in the preceding year.
  5. Proof of your highest qualification achieved.
  6. Proof of acceptance by a recognized tertiary institution within KwaZulu-Natal (if applicable).
  7. For postgraduate students, a certified copy of your undergraduate academic record.
  8. An invoice or quotation of fees for your chosen program on official tertiary institution letterhead.
  9. A motivational letter written by you, outlining your career goals and aspirations.
  10. A recommendation letter supporting your application.
  11. Your curriculum vitae (CV).
  12. Proof of your parents’ or guardians’ household income. This could include recent payslips (if employed), affidavits (if unemployed), proof of grants or pensions (if applicable), or death certificates (if deceased).
  13. Proof of your residential address.
