Application forms are typically available between July and August on the Nkangala District Municipality website or at any of the six Local Municipality Youth Offices within the Nkangala District.

These Local Municipalities include Emakhazeni, Emalahleni, Victor Khanye, Thembisile Hani, Steve Tshwete, and Dr JS Moroka.

Once you’ve obtained the application form, ensure you complete all sections thoroughly and accurately.

Attach any necessary supporting documents as outlined on the application form.

Completed applications can be submitted by hand-delivery to any of the aforementioned Local Municipality Youth Offices or the Nkangala District Municipality offices.

You must adhere to the advertised closing date for applications because applications received after the deadline will not be considered.

Nkangala District Municipality Bursary Requirements

For applicants to be eligible for the Nkangala District Municipality Bursary, you must meet the following requirements:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. You must reside within one of the six Local Municipalities falling under the Nkangala District Municipality.
  3. You must come from a historically disadvantaged background.
  4. You must either be currently in Matric (Grade 12) or have completed Matriculation with a strong academic record.
  5. You must be willing to pursue full-time studies at a recognized South African University or FET College.
  6. Ideally, you should be aiming to qualify in one of the following fields: Architecture, Civil Engineering, Finance, Information Technology (including Robotics and Software Development), Mining Engineering, Regional/Town Planning, and Social Sciences.
  7. You must be prepared to enter into a service contract with the Nkangala District Municipality upon completing your studies. This typically involves working for a set period within the Municipality.
  8. You must demonstrate genuine financial need. The Nkangala District Municipality may request proof of household income to assess your financial situation.
