SAICA Thuthuka Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the SAICA Thuthuka Bursary, you must meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a South African citizen
  2. Identify as Black African or Coloured
  3. Come from a disadvantaged background
  4. Be currently in Matric OR have completed Matric within the last 2 years
  5. Have achieved a minimum of 60% for Mathematics in Grade 11 (excluding Mathematics Literacy or Technical Mathematics)
  6. Be planning to study or currently enrolled in a relevant accounting qualification listed on the SAICA website (for 2025 intake)
  7. Have applied or be in the process of applying to study at one of the SAICA-accredited universities offering the listed qualifications
  8. Have a combined family income of less than R350 000 per annum
  9. Have written or be registered to write the National Benchmark Tests (NBT) before the bursary closing date

SAICA Thuthuka Bursary Application Requirements

  5. Certified copies of ID documents or birth certificates of other dependents in your household
  6. Signed Thuthuka Consent Form (.pdf) downloaded from the SAICA website
