Sappi Bursary Requirements
For an applicant to be eligible for the Sappi Bursary program, they must meet the following criteria:
- You must be a South African citizen.
- You must fall within the age range of 17 to 25 years old.
- You must have either completed or be currently pursuing their National Senior Certificate (NSC), also known as Matric.
- You must be enrolled or intend to enroll full-time in one of the following undergraduate degree programs at a recognized South African university:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Civil Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering
- Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Forestry and Wood Science
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Industrial Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering
- Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Mechatronics Engineering
- If you have completed your Matric, you must have achieved a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and Physical Science, and 60% in English. If you are currently in Matric (Grade 11), you must be on track to achieve these marks.
- While not a strict requirement, preference will be given to students residing near Sappi’s main business operations in South Africa.
