Why Change Your Phone Number?
You may need to update your phone number if you’ve switched mobile network providers, lost or damaged your SIM card, had your phone stolen, or applied for the grant using someone else’s phone number.
Updating your contact details is crucial to maintain communication with SASSA and receive your grant payment.
How to Change Your Phone Number
Visit the SASSA SRD grant contact details page and enter your ID number and Application ID (if you have it). If you’ve misplaced your Application ID, don’t worry – we’ll cover how to retrieve it later. Click “Submit” and enter your email address and new phone number.

How to change your SRD phone number without an application ID?
Your Application ID is a unique six-digit number assigned to your SRD grant application. If you’ve lost it, visit the SASSA SRD grant status check page, enter your ID number and old phone number, and your Application ID will appear.
