About Seriti Learnership
The Seriti Learnership program offers a structured path for aspiring engineers to gain valuable skills and qualifications in the mining sector.
Through a combination of classroom learning and practical on-the-job training, this program equips learners with the necessary expertise to launch successful careers in the field.
The current offering focuses on two specific engineering disciplines: Fitter and Boilermaker.
Seriti Learnership Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Seriti Learnership program, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:
- Educational Qualifications:
- Completion of Matric/Grade 12 with a minimum “E” symbol in Mathematics (not literacy) and Science, along with two N2 trade-related subjects. OR
- Completion of an N2 qualification with four relevant trade-related subjects.
- Specific Trade Theory Requirements:
- Fitter Learnership applicants must have completed trade theory in Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing, and Fitting & Machining Theory.
- Boilermaker Learnership applicants must have completed trade theory in Mathematics, Engineering Science, Plating and Structural Steel Drawing, and Plater Trade Theory.
- Minimum Passing Grade: A minimum “E” symbol (40%) in all required subjects.
- Psychometric Assessment: Willingness and ability to undergo a psychometric assessment.
- Work Availability: Willingness and ability to work shifts, be on standby, and attend to call outs as required.
- Work Ethic: Ability to cope under pressure, be innovative, self-motivated, and identify faults without supervision.
- Licenses and Certifications: Possession of a valid K53 driver’s license and the ability to obtain a certificate of fitness.
- Criminal Record: A clear criminal record.
Advantageous but not mandatory qualifications:
- Prior experience in the mining sector.
- Local residency to Seriti’s operations.
