This scholarship aims to empower deserving students from their surrounding communities by providing financial assistance for accredited Degree or Diploma studies. 

Seriti is a prominent South African mining company, co-owned by four black shareholder groups: Community Investment Holdings (CIH), Thebe Investments, Zungu Investments (Zico), and Masimong Group.

About the Seriti Scholarship

The Seriti Scholarship is a community-focused bursary program designed to invest in the educational aspirations of students residing in the Pegasus Local Community. 

This scholarship offers financial support for undergraduate and postgraduate Degree or Diploma studies in any accredited field (NQF level 6 or higher).

The bursary covers tuition fees, a book allowance, and accommodation and meal allowances, providing students with comprehensive financial assistance to pursue their academic goals. 

It’s important to note that the bursary does not cover the costs of previously failed subjects, outstanding tuition fees, or bridging/foundation programs.

Seriti Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Seriti Scholarship, you must meet the following minimum requirements:

  1. Be a South African citizen
  2. Reside within the Pegasus Local Community, Mpumalanga province
  3. Have completed Matric (the South African National Senior Certificate)
  4. Be currently studying or intend to study for a Degree or Diploma qualification in any field (NQF level 6 or higher)
  5. Be enrolled or provisionally accepted at a recognized and registered Higher Education and Training Institution (HETI) in South Africa (mainstream University or University of Technology)
  6. Demonstrate a strong academic record with a minimum overall average of 60% in your most recent studies
  7. Not be receiving financial support from any other bursary program or sponsorship
  8. Preference will be given to students residing in the Pegasus Primary Communities (specific communities within the broader Pegasus Local Community)

Seriti Scholarship Application Requirements

Applications for the Seriti Scholarship are submitted online. 

Along with your application, you must submit clear, certified copies of the following supporting documents:

  1. ID document
  2. Matric certificate
  3. Full academic record (if currently studying)
  4. Proof of registration/acceptance/provisional acceptance (on institution’s letterhead)
  5. Brief Curriculum Vitae (CV) in PDF format
  6. Proof of residence (municipal water & lights bill or a letter from a Council member or Chief)

Please note that all documents must have been certified within the last 3 months of application.
