South African Geomatics Council Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the SAGC Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. You must have completed your Matriculation certificate.
  3. You must be enrolled full-time in a geomatics-related qualification listed below:
    • Geomatics (Engineering Surveying or GISc) (Diploma/ Bachelors degree)
    • Geomatics (Land Surveying or GISc) (BSc)
    • Geoinformatics and BSc Hons Geoinformatics (BSc)
    • Mine Surveying (Diploma)  
  4. You must be enrolled at one of the following universities or universities of technology approved by the SAGC:
    • Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT)
    • Durban University of Technology (DUT)
    • ESRI South Africa College
    • Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT)
    • Stellenbosch University (SU)
    • Tshwane University of Technology (TUT)
    • University of Cape Town (UCT)
    • University of South Africa (Unisa)
    • University of Johannesburg (UJ)
    • University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN)
    • University of Pretoria (UP)
  5. Academic Record: You must demonstrate a strong academic record.
  6. Financial Need: You must be able to demonstrate proven financial need.
  7. Work Ethic: You must possess a strong work ethic and a commitment to your studies.
  8. Terms and Conditions: You must agree to the terms and conditions of the bursary program.

South African Geomatics Council Bursary Application Requirements

  1. Certified Copy of your ID Document
  2. Certified Copy of your Matric Certificate
  3. Certified Copies of any Tertiary Qualification Certificates (if applicable)
  4. Certified Copies of your June and November Exam Results (if applicable)
  5. Proof of Registration at your University/University of Technology (on institution letterhead)
  6. Provisional Acceptance Letter at your University/University of Technology (on institution letterhead)
  7. Proof of Parents or Guardians’ Household Income
