The South African Nursery Association (SANA) is a non-profit organization established in 1947.
For over seven decades, SANA has championed the interests of the green and nursery industry in South Africa.
Their core objectives include promoting a professional image for the country’s horticultural industry, fostering communication channels between nursery businesses, and advocating for the industry on environmental matters and in dealings with government departments.
Through the SANA Bursary program, the association invests in the future of the industry by supporting aspiring horticultural and landscaping professionals.
About the South African Nursery Association Bursary
The SANA Bursary provides financial assistance exclusively for tuition fees associated with undergraduate studies in horticulture and landscaping.
Funding is disbursed directly to the educational institution on behalf of the successful applicant.
It’s important to note that the bursary does not cover any outstanding fees, registration fees, practical training costs, accommodation expenses, travel allowances, or the cost of prescribed textbooks.
Beyond financial support, SANA bursary recipients gain valuable industry exposure through a complimentary student membership.
This membership affords access to:
- Regular electronic newsletters: Stay informed about industry updates, important dates, and other relevant information.
- Digital copy of the annual SANA Magazine: Gain insights into the industry through in-depth articles and features.
- Free entry to SANA Trade Fairs: Held twice a year in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal, these trade fairs provide a unique opportunity to witness the nursery industry in action.
Student membership is valid for one year and requires renewal for continued access to these benefits.
