INISA Student Grant South Africa 2025

The Initiative Southern Africa (INISA) is a German non-governmental organization (NGO) established in 1995.

Their mission is to raise awareness in Germany about political, economic, social, and cultural developments within Southern Africa.

They aim to foster interest, understanding, and stronger ties between Germany and the SADC region.

INISA offers student grants to SADC students, funding their studies through membership fees and donations.

This ensures the program remains completely independent and non-partisan.

About the INISA Student Grant

The INISA Student Grant supports undergraduate studies in any field at a university or tertiary institution within the SADC region.

However, they particularly encourage applications from students pursuing studies in Economics, Engineering, Science, and Medical fields.

The grant covers 75% of tuition fees and related study expenses, including residence fees, books, and other study materials.

The maximum award amount is €1500 (or the equivalent in your local currency).

It’s important to note that if multiple students are awarded the grant, the total amount will be split equally among the recipients.

Selected students must provide proof of tuition-related expenses through a fees account record from their institution.

The grant is then paid directly to the student’s university fee account.

Additionally, recipients must submit two progress reports during their academic year.

Following a shortlisting process, potential recipients will be contacted for an interview before final selections are made.
