VerifiedSafety in Society is a National Certificate (Vocational) programme at public TVET colleges that prepares students for careers in policing, justice, community safety and government. It runs over three years, NQF Levels 2 to 4, and it is not affected by the 2027 NC(V) phase-out.

Each level also has three fundamental subjects: English First Additional Language, Mathematical Literacy and Life Orientation. Examinations are written in November.
It is physically demanding
The DHET guideline for the policing subject includes drill, physical training, a SAPS-standard obstacle course and morning parades. Colleges may also check fitness and body mass index before accepting you.

Colleges name careers in SAPS, metro police, traffic services, correctional services, the SANDF and private security. Each employer has its own recruitment requirements.
