About WeThinkCode Bursaries

The WeThinkCode bursary program provides a life-changing opportunity for South Africans to pursue a career in software engineering without the financial burden of tuition fees.

This full-time program is generously sponsored by top South African corporations, including Telkom, FNB, BBD, Derivco, Dimension Data, and IQ Business.

The bursary covers not only your tuition but also provides a monthly stipend of R2000 to assist with food and transportation costs. However, there’s more.

During your studies, you’ll gain valuable practical experience through two paid internships of four months each with your sponsoring company.

Upon graduation, you’ll be offered full-time employment with your sponsor, ensuring a smooth transition from student to professional.

WeThinkCode Bursary Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the WeThinkCode Bursary program, you must meet the following criteria:

  3. Be available to attend classes full-time at the Johannesburg campus.

WeThinkCode Bursary Application Requirements

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in a series of online assessments. Those who perform well will then be invited to attend the rigorous selection Bootcamp.

How to Apply

The selection Bootcamp, held in early 2017, is a critical stage of the application process.

This intensive four-week program focuses on problem-solving through computer programming and is designed to assess your aptitude and dedication.

Be prepared to dedicate significant time and effort, as attending the Bootcamp requires full-time commitment (including weekends) for a minimum of 10 hours per day.

You’ll be collaborating closely with fellow applicants, fostering teamwork and problem-solving skills essential for success in software engineering.

Following the Bootcamp, top performers will be offered a coveted place in the full-time WeThinkCode_ program.

Remember, applications are processed on a first-come, first-served basis, so applying early increases your chances of securing a spot in the Bootcamp.
