SITFE Bursary Eligibility Criteria

Before applying, ensure you meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. Academic Focus: You must either be pursuing a qualification in Science, Engineering, or Agriculture OR be a child of a sugarcane farm worker intending to study in any field.
  3. Tertiary Institution: You must be studying or intend on studying at a recognized University, University of Technology, or College of Agriculture in South Africa.

SITFE Bursary Application Requirements

The application process requires you to submit the following documents:

  1. Certified copy of your ID document
  2. Certified copy of your Matric final results and statement of results/ certificate
  3. Certified copies of your tertiary final exam results (if currently studying)
  4. Proof of connection to the sugar industry (applicable only if your application falls under the “children of sugarcane farm workers” category)
  5. Certified copy of proof of parents or guardians’ household income (payslips, pension receipts, or affidavit if unemployed)
  6. Certified copy of a death certificate (if applicable, if a parent is deceased)
  7. Proof of application or registration at your chosen institution (on institution letterhead, for studies commencing in 2025)

Submitting all these documents is compulsory and all incomplete applications may be disqualified.
