South African Council for the Architectural Profession Bursary Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for the SACAP Bursary, ensure you meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. You must be a South African citizen.
  2. You must have successfully completed your Matric qualification.
  3. You must be currently enrolled in an architectural qualification program (second year or honours level) at an accredited South African institution.
  4. Students without a disability must have a total household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum. Students with a disability are eligible with a total household income not exceeding R600,000 annually.
  5. Designated Groups Preference: Preference will be given to candidates from designated groups in South Africa (as defined by government policy).

Here’s what you’ll need to submit:

  1. Certified Copies: A certified copy of your South African ID document and Matric certificate.
  2. Academic Records: Certified copies of your most recent academic results and full academic record.
  3. Motivational Letter: A compelling one-page motivational letter explaining your reasons for applying for the SACAP Bursary.
  4. Proof of Income: Documentation to verify your household income. If employed, submit three months’ latest payslips for yourself or your parents/guardians. If unemployed, submit an affidavit from a commissioner of oaths.
  5. Bank Statements: Three months’ recent bank statements for yourself or your parents/guardians.
  6. Medical Note (if applicable): Students with a disability must provide a medical note outlining the type of disability.
