Tech-Capital is a black-owned IT consultancy and training company founded in Centurion in 2018. Its bursary is aimed at a group most technology funders overlook: black students living with a disability who are studying for an IT degree. It pays the fees on the university statement, and past rounds were tied to the University of Pretoria.
About the Tech-Capital Bursary
- For undergraduate IT degrees; past rounds were limited to the University of Pretoria.
- Covers the costs on the university tuition statement only.
- Reserved for students living with a disability.
Eligibility requirements
- South African-born citizen who is Black African, Coloured or Indian.
- Living with a disability recognised by the university’s disability unit.
- Enrolled in an undergraduate IT programme.
- At least a 65% overall average in current studies, or in Matric for first-year applicants.
How to apply
- Email Tech-Capital to confirm that a round is open.
- Prepare a certified ID, proof of disability from a medical doctor, proof of registration, your latest fee statement and academic report on the institution’s letterhead, and your name, qualification and year of study.
- Email everything to bmahlangu@tech-capital.co.za with the bursary name and year in the subject line.
