NC(V) fees are set by each public TVET college and differ by programme, because vocational subjects with workshops cost more. Fees are charged per level (per year). NSFAS covers the fees of eligible students, so many NC(V) students pay nothing themselves.

Office Administration, Marketing and Finance, Economics and Accounting take no new Level 2 students from January 2027 under DHET circular TC 0153.
What the fee covers and what it does not
- Class fees cover tuition for the three fundamental and four vocational subjects.
- Extra costs can include protective clothing, tools, stationery and transport.
Funding
- NSFAS pays tuition for eligible NC(V) students at public colleges and provides allowances.
- Unfunded students often pay a deposit at registration; Westcol, for example, asks for 50%.
