Why the trades fit the area
Mining and renewable energy projects in the Northern Cape need electrical skills. The new Electrician and Solar PV Standalone Installer programmes lead towards those jobs, but ask the campus about workplace learning requirements before you apply.
Older websites list NC(V) Mining, NC(V) Financial Management and IT Support at Kathu. These are not on the college’s current programme list.

Applying and funding
Apply online through the college’s portal; see how to apply to Kathu Campus. NCR is public, so NSFAS funds eligible students; the DHET’s 2026 list shows the Electrician certificate without NSFAS allowances, so ask what funding covers.
