How Long Does It Take to Hear Back from Unisa?

Processing times can vary depending on the application volume and chosen qualification.

Unisa says application outcomes are sent 4 to 6 weeks after applications close. Registration is a separate step that you complete after you accept an offer.

How Will Unisa Confirm my Registration?

Here are the main ways the school will confirm your Unisa registration:

  1. myLife Email: Unisa will send an email notification to your myLife account. You activate this account by claiming your Unisa login. Be sure to check your inbox regularly, including the spam folder, for any updates.
  2. myUnisa Portal: Once your registration is finalized, you’ll be able to access the myUnisa student portal using your student number. Here, you can view your registration details, download study materials, and access important university resources.
  3. Registration Confirmation Letter: Upon successful registration, you’ll receive a confirmation letter via email to your myLife account. This letter outlines your registered modules, fees, and important dates. You can also request a copy of this letter through the myUnisa portal.

How Do I Claim My Unisa Login?

If you’re a first-time student, you’ll need to claim your Unisa login details.

Visit the myUnisa website (https://www.unisa.ac.za/sites/myunisa/default/) and click on “Claim my login.”

You’ll need your student number and ID/passport number to complete this process.

What If I Don’t Receive Any Communication from Unisa?

If you haven’t received any updates within a reasonable timeframe after the registration deadline, you can contact the Unisa Registration Directorate.

You may reach them via email at study-info@unisa.ac.za or by calling the toll-free number 0800 00 1870.

Can I Track My Unisa Registration Status Online?

You can check your application for admission with Unisa’s Track application status tool at https://myadmin.unisa.ac.za/unisa-studentstatus/default.do. There is no separate tracker for registration applications.

However, you can use the methods mentioned previously, such as checking your myLife email and the myUnisa portal for updates.

What If I Made a Mistake During Registration?

If you discover an error in your registration details, contact the Unisa Registration Directorate immediately.

Depending on the nature of the mistake, they may be able to rectify it.

However, it’s important to note that changes may not always be possible, and late fees might apply for specific amendments.

Why has My Registration not been Confirmed when I’ve paid my fees?

Registration is only finalised once Unisa receives at least the minimum payment for your modules. NSFAS-funded students on the approved funding list do not pay it.

Double-check your myLife account for any outstanding fees. Ensure your payment reflects on your student account.

If you’ve paid using a bank transfer, allow sufficient processing time for the funds to clear.

What Happens If My Unisa Registration Isn’t Successful?

If your registration application is unsuccessful, Unisa will notify you via email explaining the reason(s) for rejection.

The email will also outline any steps you can take to reapply or address any outstanding issues.
