Students already registered had until 2021 to finish. The advanced diploma replaced the B Tech as the step after a diploma.

How to get into an advanced diploma
- A relevant 360-credit diploma or National Diploma, or an Advanced Certificate in Engineering Practice, with an average of at least 60%.
- Recognition of prior learning is possible from age 27 with five years’ relevant experience.
- Apply in Unisa’s normal application window. For 2027, undergraduate applications run from 17 August to 9 October 2026.
